Star Citizen Alpha Patch 4.2

Alpha Patch 4.2 has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test!   Patch should now show: VERSION 4.2.0-PTU.9808470.
  • Audience: Evocati Only (Release under NDA) Will be up for about 2 hours to determine Wave 1 viability tonight
  • Server Info: PTU Channel - US Only
  • Long Term Persistence: Enabled 
  • Mesh Configuration: 10 DGS - 600 Players
  • Starting aUEC: 15,000,000
Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing and subject to removal.  When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the "Testing Focus".  Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • PU - Stanton - Orison - Locations / Transit - Tram doors are not opening upon arrival at the station
  • PU - Stanton - Locations - Klescher Rehabilitation Facility - Mining / Inventory - Players are unable to store mined Ore into their inventory properly and Ore will be dropped to the ground after attempting to be stored
  • Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Quantum Travel - Ships streaming in or streaming out locations on a quantum travel jump has performance drops and frame freezing
  • Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Target lock - target lock is unlocked at random radar for targets is dropped
  • Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Target lock - target attacker stops working when a target lock is lost due to locking range or radar dropped
  • PU - mobiGlas - Asset Manager / NikNax - mobiGlas / Inventory / UI - The Assets Manager / NikNax app gets stuck at infinite loading and never loads assets
  • PU - Multivehicle - Vehicle Components / Bed Logout - Bedlogging in ships can break Quantum Markers
  • PU - Mining / Saddlebag / Cargo Grid - Argo and MISC Saddlebags do not snap to the Argo RAFT's Cargo Grid
  • PU - New Babbage / Brentworth Care Center - UI / Medical Screens - Check-in medical kiosk is stuck on “Checking availability” loading screen
  • PU - Locations / UI / Shopping Kiosk - Delivery location when purchasing any item is missing if the Player doesn't change the location in the drop down

Storm Breaker: New Persistent Sandbox Activity
Similar to the Align and Mine sandbox of Alpha 4.1, Alpha 4.2 brings with it a new series of persistent sandbox locations linked to the ongoing Regen Crisis narrative.

  • ArcCorp: Added Dynamic Rain

ASD Facilities (Associated Science and Development)
Location/Lighting/Activity Polish and Performance Optimizations. Reduced number of NPCs spawned + reduced number of creatures spawned. Added Ambient, Worm, and Combat FPS Music for ASD Facility Locations. Further Facility Storm Adjustments to Help Reduce Spline Jump Collisions Into Distortion. Removed ASD Facility Egg from Item Recovery
  • ASD Data Centers
Located on Pyro 4, these facilities allow intrepid explorers to begin uncovering the lengths to which Associated Sciences & Development have gone in combatting the current threat to humanity ability to conquer death
  • ASD Shuttle Stations
Found on Pyro 1 at the outskirts of two enormous never-ending storms and deadly radiation zones, these stations allow visitors safer passage into the disturbances during their investigations within.
  • ASD Research Facilities
Hidden in the dangerous confines of Pyro 1's deadly storms, intrepid players are encouraged to explore these supposedly abandoned facilities, and uncover what ASD has worked so hard to maintain hidden.

Weapons and Items
  • Volt "Prism" Shotgun
A Revolution in Tactical Firepower. Starting as a high-impact, close-range weapon, this Adaptive weapon evolves as you fire, building heat and transforming into a precision slug shotgun capable of punishing enemies at a distance with terrifying force. Operators must monitor heat buildup carefully. Sustained fire can lead to overheating, reducing efficiency and leaving you exposed. Environmental factors play a crucial role and atmospheric temperatures will affect heat generation, meaning your battlefield tactics must adjust with your surroundings.

Core Tech
  • Routed Item Recovery item spawns through the player's home inventory if the target medbed doesn't have a valid landing zone (Will also fix STARC-169576)
 

Bug Fixes

  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Area18 / Lorville - Transit / Locations / Graphics - There are VisArea issues inside and outside the tram carriages (STARC-168861)
  • Potential Fix: Pu - Pyro - ASD - Locations / Core Tech / Exploit - There is a section outside the data center with no collision allowing players to access locked rooms (STARC-169540)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton / Pyro - ASOP / Fleet Manager / UI - After retrieving a ship, the ASOP is sometimes blank, not displaying your hangar name to tell you where your ship is waiting (STARC-123318)
  • Potential Fix: PU - ASD Facilities - Locations / AI - Hostile AI teleport and walk in place and jitter around (STARC-160309)
  • Potential Fix: RSI Polaris - Vehicles - PU - The Point Defense Cannon / PDC’s will shoot down the ships own Torpedoes (STARC-155562)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Multivehicle - MFD / UI / mobiGlas - MFDs can be interacted with while in mobiGlas (STARC-131804)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD Facilities - Locations / Interactables - Maintenance room door retains previously used keycard after location cooldown, preventing access for subsequent visits
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD Facility - Radiation / Actor - Players will not receive REM when in close proximity to the valakaar egg
  • Potential Fix: Radiation - Medical Beds don't auto remove all player radiation when lying down in them
  • Potential Fix: PU - ASD - Pyro - Locations / Weapons - Turrets on the roof of the Lazarus Complex are unable to be used
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD - Location / Core Tech - Getting direct access to the laptop in the Executive Office requires the player to stand behind the couch its sitting on
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD - Locations / Collision - The code text on the Pyro 1 storm study room PC screen is hard to read
  • Potential Fix: Multilocation - PU - Pyro / Pyro I - ASD Facility - Locations / Transit - Trams do not have doors present
  • Potential Fix: PU - ASD - Pyro - Locations / Transit - Players must jump from the shuttle to the Research Facility as the shuttle does not correctly align with the research facility platform
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD - AI / Hostility / Audio / Locations - Some AI will not be hostile or change their behaviour when shots are fired in the data facility
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD - Locations / Interactables - Maintenance room keycard does not respawn after 2 hour cooldown
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - The Collector - Missions / Game Code / Locations - Some Collector missions are not available when players are in the Pyro system
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - ASD - Locations - New safe codes do not open safes after streaming out / in if the safe has previously been opened
