Star Citizen Alpha Patch 4.2.1

Alpha Patch 4.2.1 has been released to Wave 1 Testers! Patch should now show: VERSION 4.2.1-PTU.9886217.

Testing/Feedback Focus

This initial build is a stability focused playtest for Evocati on EPTU. There may be features in various states of completeness but we are currently not focusing on feedback on these.
  • Stability & Bugfixes
  • Second Life Resource Drive (rewards are now functioning for the event)
Player’s will be tasked with different missions to achieve this including:
  1. Resource Gathering - They ask the player to source and gather X resources.
  2. Recover Cargo - Players go to retrieve cargo from a vessel that has broken down/attacked. Or retrieve cargo from a stolen stash.
  3. Support Attacked Ship - Defend a cargo ship from waves of pirates trying to destroy and rob the ship.
  4. Hauling - Retrieve resources that have been processed and are ready to be delivered.
 

Weekend Concurrently Playtest - Sunday 1400 CDT | 1900 UTC

This weekend on Sunday we will be taking 2 hours starting at 1900 UTC for the team to gather data on the state of the shards after being online for the weekend. This will be a more highly focused time to gather captures.

Known Issues

  • PU - Armor / UI / Personal Inventory - Items equipped and/or attached on the actor can't be dragged to be held by the actor's hands as its port will be missing
  • Multivehicle - PU / AC - Vehicles / Weapons / UI / VMA - Vehicle Weapons are not Interactable or Useable (Affects a handful of ships: Mirai Fury Series, Pulse, P-52, Spartan, and Cyclone Series)
  • PU - Vehicle - Naming ships, melting ships, or updating ship packages will delete any non-stock items that are fitted to the ship including paints
  • Multiitem - PU - Vehicle / Turret / MFD - Idris gimbals are empty and weapons/missiles are unable to be equipped to them (if turret is reequipped in the VLM)
  • PU - Pyro - Storm Breaker - Locations - Lazarus Research Complex - Freight Elevator - UI / Interactions - When placing items on the elevator floor then lowering it, the Freight Elevator will lose the items then raise itself (Moderate Chance)
  • ARGO ATLS ALL Variants - PU - Mount / Cargo Grid - Argo ATLS can be placed anywhere on the cargo grid without following the SCU grid pattern
  • PU - Pyro / Pyro I - Storm Breaker - Locations / Mission Feature / Physics - Bullets will not pass through the Shuttle Station's entrance curtain when firing outside
  • AEGS Idris-P - PU - Vehicles - Idris shields do not stop any laser weapons except panthers
  • PU - Freight Elevator / Contested Zones (CZ) - CZ Freight Elevator displays Internal Error when attempting to move items to the warehouse
  • Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Target lock - target lock is unlocked at random radar for targets is dropped
  • PU - Pyro - Courier - Mission Feature / Interactables - There is a chance that delivery packages cannot be placed on delivery shelves

  • Added ex-collector tinted special weapons as rare loot in the PU
  • Carryables are now thrown instead of dropped when falling due to damage

Bug Fixes

  • Potential Fix: PU - Dynamic Weather - VFX - Frame rate drops will cause the rain to look jittery in third person
  • Potential Fix: PU - Location - Docking port entering ship causes black screen that cannot be escaped requires closing starcitizen entirely (STARC-166324)
  • Potential Fix: Executive Hangars have cards stuck inside (STARC-168927)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Resource Gathering - Support Attacked Ship - Mission Content - SCU score isn't awarded upon mission completion (STARC-172293)
  • Potential Fix: Stanton - Crusader - Security Post Kareah - Core Tech - Physics - Actor / Player - Transitioning from EVA onto Kareah's landing pads has a high chance of instantly killing the player (STARC-67072)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - Storm Breaker / Collector / Creatures / Mining - Irradiated Apex - Some Apex Valakkar limpets will vanish when they are successfully fractured (STARC-170609)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Hurston - Lorville - New Deal - Locations - Physical Shopping - The C.O. Mustang Beta on display has raw text "<-=PLACEHOLDER=->" for the Ship purchase description when attempting to purchase
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - New Babbage - Performance / Locations - Severe performance issue when loading into a Personal Hangar at New Babbage causing framerate to drop between 0.0 and 0.2
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Locations - Rest Stops - ASOP Kiosk / UI / ATC - ASOP terminals are stuck on the loading animation with trace error "NO LINK TO ATC - Verify and export OC" / "Stand by, accessing list of available vehicles" (STARC-171390)
  • Potential Fix: Multiitem - PU - Vehicle / Turret / MFD - Idris gimbals are empty and weapons/missiles are unable to be equipped to them
  • Potential Fix: Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Radar / Scanning - Targeted vehicles can be scanned when outside of the scan range
  • Potential Fix: PU - Transit / Locations - Art / Graphics - Area18 - Transit carriages have severe visarea and lighting issues when used
  • Potential Fix: Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Ships / Personal Hangars - Ships Delivered in Personal Hangars are not Properly Positioned and can be damaged (STARC-118610)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Storm Breaker - Locations / AI - Juvenile and Adult Valakkar can remain unresponsive with no collision and cannot be killed during Apex fight at the Research facility
  • Potential Fix: PU - Core Tech / Game Code - Entity Recovery - Player actors can end up in a recovery loop when falling through Freight Elevators that are on planetary surfaces
  • Potential Fix: Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles / Target lock - target lock is unlocked at random radar for targets is dropped (STARC-167879)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Instance hangars - Law - Hangar Trespassing is NOT relocating players who are trespassing in someone elses hangar (STARC-147077)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Cargo / UI / Mounts - Freight Elevator - Freight Manager UI doesn't provide enough context on why un-owned ATLS suits are obstructing the elevator
  • Potential Fix: PU - Stanton - Resource Gathering - Mission Content / Priority - mobiGlas - Accepted Mission by Another Player Disappears and Reappear after 2 minutes
  • Potential Fix: PU - Pyro - Radiation / UI - Radiation widgets stay present on HUD after you take a suit off
